I love this picture. DH climbed in the pen to pet his pig (as you do, right?) and houdini rolled himself right onto DH’s lap. He’s a lap pig now apparently. Is it just me or is that pig definitely smiling? DH sure was. He loves his piggy. 🙂
I’m not really a pig expert (shocking) but I feel like houdini is really small for 5ish months old. Maybe it’s his breed, which I’m not sure what breed he is, but I’m quite glad he seems to be smaller than usual. For now anyway. I could just see him laying on DH’s lap at 300 lbs…. eek!
Better angle for tummy rubs. Pigs are smart.

He sure is! I’ve been surprised at how smart he is.

Science says pigs are smarter than dogs. I don’t doubt this for a second. It might be fun teaching the pretty porker some tricks and games.

That would be fun! Maybe if I’m successful I’ll get to post an update about it.

So sweet. I’ve never wanted a pig for a pet but your posts are making me see why people do. Living in the suburbs, you’d think there’d be rules about livestock but I actually see FB posts about someone’s lost chickens all the time. There was even a lost pig post recently! I think it’s trendy for the upper level housewives (the ones with perfect manicures who only eat organic, that type) to have chickens and apparently now pigs. But it also shows what a great community I live in because for every pig or chicken post, someone comments and says “They’re so and so’s! I’ll give them a call.”

Sounds like you live in a really nice neighborhood! DH’s cousin moved to a subdivision awhile back and he misses raising chickens. But they definitely have rules against that there.

We do love our neighborhood and community! It gets a bad rep for being snobbish, which can be true but there are people like that in every community. The funny part is that the people most would assume would be snobs in big fancy houses are the ones with chickens!
